using the mouse and finding your way around the keyboard and
monitor screen, and learn other interesting computer information.
Computer Applications
Takes
the Computer Application class a step further! You should be comfortable with a
mouse. Course introduces the new user to Microsoft Works
and its applications, extensive word processing, database,
spreadsheets, e-mail and the internet. It also covers how
to create/save documents, access exiting files, and basic navigation.
File
Management
Having
trouble saving and finding what you've worked on? Need to get your computer work better
organized? Learn how to better manage your files and reduce "Computer
Clutter".
Music on the Go / Portable Media Players
A 2-hour class loaded with information
about various media players that can be used to organize your computer
media files (video & audio) – particularly
working with Windows Media Player and iTunes. Learn to
use your iPod or favorite MP3 player; additionally, learn to
buy music online or other educational material that can be loaded
onto a portable device.
Internet Security
A 2-hour class to help you understand
the various Internet browsers and how they can secure your Internet
experience. Also,
a comparative discussion on programs that can secure your computer
from Internet intruders. How to protect your children from
Internet danger, such as Internet predators and inappropriate
material.
PC Clinic
Bring your PC or laptop and we will help
you diagnose the problem. During
this 2-hour session you will learn the inner components of your
machine and how to best take care of it to prevent expensive repairs. Also,
our consultants will help you answer question as to “how
to use” your PC. This is a great session to get to
know us and experience first-hand the computer trainers at JCC.
